Amelia Kieras

Pennsylvania

Amelia Kieras is a Dormont based illustrator and paper artist. She makes hand bound artist books and self published picture books. To create her illustrations, she starts with a sketch, scans it, and then builds the final illustration on top using original photography for textures and digital painting techniques to color and blend. She prints and binds her artist books in her home studio, using archival pigment-based giclee printing and heavyweight matte papers. Her imagery is inspired by childhood memories and imaginings, folk tales, fairy tales, and dreams.
